With regard to the cut to the Crocus Sativus filament, saffron is categorized in the market to the following types:

Super Negin typeSuper Negin Saffron

Super Negin is the most prestigious type of Saffron that contains no floral waste or styles and the Crocus filaments’ crown is kept completely healthy and untouched during the entire process and packaging. If you want to gift someone important you found the type that will break his/her jaw! Super Negin has the most volume and is luxurious super saffron. Great smell, taste, and color.

Negin typeNegin Saffron

With Coloring strength of near 250, Negin is conceivably one step behind Super Negin, perfectly good saffron but because we keep the saffron dry during the process in order to avoid losing the aroma (moisture less than %10) there maybe inevitable broken parts less than %4.

Sargol typeSargol Saffron (All-red, Coupe)

Pure Stigmas of Crocus Sativus cut exactly from the red part are called cut (Coupe’) saffron or Sargol. Sargol Saffron takes less space compared to Negin and hence the cut stigmas are compact the shipping costs would be more reasonable for this type of saffron. However, we make sure the quality is the same as other types.

Pushali TypePushali Saffron

The conventional type of saffron consisting of uncut and intact saffron stigmas mostly connected each three to the stem. The art in providing long-stemmed, thick and healthy Pushali lies in thorough supervision over the entire process of cultivation, harvesting, processing, drying and handling of this exquisite spice, that our QC unit scrutinizes the entire process.

Mancha Saffron

Typical to a special area called “Castille La Mancha”, is the most common type used by Spanish people and sold worldwide bearing the name of Spanish saffron. Containing more floral waste causes the coloring strength to be lower than even conventional Pushali, but the yellow parts helps the customer determine the originality of saffron.

Bunch typeBunch Saffron

“Dasteh” or “Abu-shebe” is a special type of clustering saffron. Before the saffron is dried, the entire filaments are grouped in a bunch and a rope is tied around them. This type is popular among Arabs, there is no clinically proven fact of efficacy of the yellow parts, but some customers prefer this type, so we’re here to please.

Powder

The filaments are ground into two types of powder with different mesh size and hence different coloring strength and saffron quality is the kept the same.
